Travel Fashion for St. Augustine Getaway

lifestyle purpose social media Dec 18, 2020

I don't need to tell you how stressful 2020 has been. I mean, the comparison's of this year to the Jumanji game are terrifyingly close. From the pandemic to the, wasps, to the social unrest, to... whatever is coming next!

So when iHeartRadio decided we all needed to take two weeks off, one in this quarter and the other in the 3rd quarter, I was all in!

We are still kind of afraid of flying, and afraid of big cities so Bae and I opted for a road trip to St. Augustine! Neither one of us had been before and a little history is always something we're down for. Nerd status 100!

My main priority when I travel is COMFORT. I love taking walking tours, but I have flat feet  and my thighs touch. Need I explain further why comfort is #1?

It took me a while to find a way to keep my comfort fashionable and I think I'm getting the hang of it. Here are my looks for this very HOT Florida vacation spot.

Each pic is optimized to be uploaded to the LiketoKnow. It app to shop the look. You can download the app here and follow me. If you're on your desktop, you can just click on the pictures in this post to shop.

By the way, if you're impatient like I am, I'll tell you right now I'm saving the best piece for last. So if you need to start there, feel free to scroll down!

We arrived around dinner time so the first look was a little dressier since we weren't going to be doing too much walking.

I absolutely love this dress cause it's flattering for any figure, the colors have a nice balance of neutral and bright which makes this piece easy to wear almost anywhere.

I paired it with the wedges because I'm super comfortable in these shoes and can wear them for hours.  But this dress would also look great with beige sandals. This whole look is under $100.

Day two was all out and about! We visited the Fort, the Lightner Museum, walked through the Plaza, took a walking Ghost Tour and explored George Street. You already know how hot it is in Florida in the summer, all year long really, so feeling fresh was a must!

Both this shirt and shorts are from Old Navy and you can get both for under $50. The shorts are 5" inseam which I like cause they keep my thighs from rubbing. They're also mid-rise, not entirely high-waisted.

The shoes are Nike and I wear them with insoles for flat feet. This keeps my feet from hurting on long walking days like this.

Remember, you can screen shot these pics and load them to the liketoknow.it app for the links to shop the look. Or just follow me on the app!

Let me tell you how much I LOVED this dress!

I LOOOOVED this dress! Here are the reasons why:

1- It's less than $20! ($17.50)

2- It's long enough where it won't fly up with a gust of wind. (We've all been there!)

3- The straps aren't spaghetti, they're about an inch thick and I think makes it look more dressy.

4- The entire dress is lined. So if you're the bra-less type, this will still be comfortable on the top. The bottom being lined keeps the dress from being see through.

5- The empire style cut is super flattering for any shape.

I wore this baby with biking shorts under and while Tommy Hilfiger sneakers. BTW I HATE white sneakers cause they're forever dirty. I love this particular pair cause the material is super easy to clean.

This blue piece was so comfortable and airy which came in perfect for the incredibly humid, hot nights in St. Augustine. I wore it with the same white heels from the first night. I loved that the colors are bright but not too loud. You can dress this up with a necklace and heels or down with flats and it's also only $17.50.

As a side note, I wore this dress for date-night at a restaurant called Llama which was the best culinary experience we had the entire trip! If you're a foodie, this is a MUST on your St Augustine visit. Make sure you call ahead and reserve for the 6 or 13 course chef experience.

Saving the best for last...

This dress was hands down, the hit of the entire trip.

I got compliments literally everywhere I went in this dress. It's from Posh Palma Styles. I'm obsessed with this shop/community. Posh Palma Styles came to life when two women with totally different upbringings were determined to initiate a space where women come to escape and relive that moment in tropical paradise. The community is all about welcoming the free-spirited soul, who embodies pure romanticism and feels great in her own skin.

Romanticism is EXACTLY what this "Butterfly Garden" dress portrayed and I felt amazing in it.

The fabric is breezy and high quality. The attention to detail in this piece is stunning. The sleeves are short enough to still flaunt jewelry. The length is classic and the width of the skirt is huge! You can pretty much dance Cumbia in this dress! The design of the fabric is tropical and lively and I felt like I was in a romance novel wearing this dress. You can find it on the Posh Palma Styles website

All the pieces I brought to this trip fit comfortably in a small luggage, rolled up to save space. I never leave home without my handheld steamer! You can check it out here. It's inexpensive, doesn't leak, heats up in seconds and works like a charm. It even brings a travel bag.

I only packed 3 shoes for this trip and rotated them as needed. The heels, the white sneakers and the black Nike sneakers for the heavy walking.

Comfort and style we're my go-to for this travel experience.

I would love to know your favorite look!

Sending love and light your way...
